A little bit about me...

I was born in Brasília, Brazil, and got involved with ELT when I was 16, getting my first job as an EFL teacher at a very small language insitute in Brasília. This first school where I worked had only 3 classrooms and very few students. I worked there for one semester, and later I got to know that the semester after I left, the school went bankrupt...

I left this school because I got a job at a big Brazilian English institute chain, where I worked for 1 year and a half. Meanwhile, I entered university to study TESL/TEFL and American and British Literatures and took a six-semester Teacher Development Course at the binational center Casa Thomas Jefferson, where I have been working since 2002.

I started working at CTJ as a teacher, and a few semesters later I met Carla Arena and Erika Cruvinel, who invited me to work with the MALL (Multimedia Access to Language Learning), our computer lab, creating online exercises to our e-folder, but never leaving the classroom.

The beginning of 2007, however, was the great shift in my professional life, for I got an invitation to work with Carla and Erika as a teacher trainer (regarding CALL), as an online projects tutor and as one of our website content manager, again not leaving the EFL classroom (fortunately). Moreover, 2007 was the first time I took an EVO session - Becoming a Webhead, which has definitely shaped my online presence.

I'm currently taking a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics and my main study and research interests are CALL, pronunciation and (language) learning strategies.

Also, I'm currently part of the Webheads in Action and Learning With Computers networks, and I'm taking a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics.
